Who are The New Victoria?

An ever growing group of volunteers dedicated to saving the grade B listed former Odeon on Clerk Street in Edinburgh from demolition, with a shared vision of it being brought back to life as a multi use arts venue. Everybody who is working on the project is donating their time, skills and energy free of charge. We hope to secure investment in order to purchase and restore this beautiful 1930s Art deco cinema to a fully accessible, flexible venue delivering outstanding service in a truly unique and unforgettable setting.

Our Core Team

Our core team is comprised of Sarah Colquhoun, Vicki Simpson and Helen Raw, bringing together years of expertise in hospitality, theatre, design and restoration and applying these to our business plan to secure the investment needed to enable this project to progress.

Our Wider Team

Our expanding team of volunteers include local people passionate about the building, former staff and managers of the Odeon, accountants, solicitors, actors, performers, town planners, events coordinators, web designers, musicians, historians, architects, students, management consultants, teachers, artists, a whole host of local businesses, photographers, telecommunication specialists, designers, art historians, publicans, bar staff, marketing specialists, dancers, venue managers, stage managers, print shops, cinema historians, journalists, environmental advisors, directors, producers, archaeologists, sound technicians, terracotta specialists, mechanical engineers, fishmongers, civil engineers, press advisors and many many more - all with the common goal of seeing this building open and being used.
